YSEALI GenerationGR3EN Workshop

YSEALI GenerationGR3EN Workshop

The first YSEALI (Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative) regional workshop to be held in Brunei, the YSEALI GenerationGRE3N Workshop will commence tomorrow at the Radisson Hotel. The four-day eco-entrepreneurship workshop will be bringing together 50 delegates coming from all ten YSEALI member countries to tackle different segments of eco-entrepeneurship, from infrastructure development, project management, community, environment to tourism.

The information was announced in a media briefing by Catherine Muller, the Public Relations Offers at the US Embassy of Brunei Darussalam, and Cherrie D Atilano, Founding Farmer and President of AGREA.

From 25-28 February 2017, the 4-day workshop will separate the 50 delegates into 10 groups, depending on what segment of eco-entrepreneurship each individual will be focused on. The groups will then undergo informational sessions covering Green Business components with leading speakers who will share their experiences on eco-entrepreneurship, which includes Rizan Latif from the Beach Bunch, Leslie Chiang from Sumbiling Eco Village, and Anthony Chieng from the Ulu Ulu Resort at the Ulu Temburong National Park.

The 10 groups will then focus on collaborating with one another to come up with a project proposal that will be delivered to the judges at the end of the four-day workshop, aided by mentors. This big undertaking is helped by the GenGR3EN Online Discussion, a platform that enables the young delegates to interact with one another through an application called Slack. The delegates are able to share discussions for weeks before the start of the workshop, which helps to acquaint delegates with each other’s focuses so to help them prepare for the workshop.

Two winning groups will be announced at the end of the workshop, and these delegates will have the opportunity to go to the Philippines for a Continued Learning Immersion with AGREA.

THE YSEALI GenerationGR3EN Workshop is sponsored by the US Department of State and funded through a Cooperative Agreement from the US Embassy in Brunei Darussalam to AGREA for the administration of the workshop and follow-on activities planned in 2017.
