A night spent at The DREAM Project Music Nite last February 25 informed us that Brunei’s future is bright, and it sounds fantastic.
Synchronized singing duo and WCOPA alumni The Ellewan hosted the music night as a way to showcase up-and-coming performers in the Brunei’s music scene. Held at the Rack and Brew Café in Gadong, the venue couldn’t have been more perfect. Perfectly sized to accommodate the full house of music-lovers that night, the rustic-styled venue ensured a cozy evening to be had by all. A $10 entrance fee gave those attending a refreshing mint drink and macarons to nibble on, and the option to order from their ala carte menu.
Along with an opening performance by The Ellewan, the night also saw performances by Ashriel Kuang, Clinton Kane Concon and Kala K. The song covers performed by Clinton Kane soared with his soulful voice and guitar playing, and by the time he played his original song, the audience was convinced of his future as a musician. A skilled beat-boxer, the talented Ashriel Kuang wowed everyone with his performance. As for WCOPA alumni Kala K, we’ve come to expect only the best from her performances, and she delivered spectacularly.
It was an evening with great food, great company, and great music. Follow The Ellewan (@the_ellewan) and The DREAM Project on Instagram (@dream_project.bn) to check out upcoming creative events coming at you soon.
The DREAM Project is an initiative that aims to collaborate with young creative professionals to create events for the public that will inspire hopes and dreams, and hopefully spur the youth toward a brighter future for the nation.
