The Launch of Nimanja, Brunei’s First Ever Online Pet Store

The Launch of Nimanja, Brunei’s First Ever Online Pet Store

On March 15 2017, online pet store Nimanja was launched at an event attended by guest of honor His Excellency Mr Craig Allen, US Ambassador to Brunei.

Anderson Lim, Managing Director and the first Bruneian swimmer to compete at the Olympic Games, is set to mark another milestone for the sultanate by opening Brunei’s first ever online pet store. Supplementing the needs of family-owned business Petlink Group of pet stores, Nimanja Enterprise was launched for the convenience of pet owners in Brunei, offering over 25 international brands on their website.

“My family started Petlink in 1985 as pioneers in the Brunei pet market. They are my motivation and inspiration and the reason I started Nimanja Enterprise. It is my goal to extend their legacy and to continue creating and delivering value to pet lovers in the country,” Anderson explained in his opening speech.

The event also featured opening remarks by the guest of honour, and a presentation on the products available at Nimanja by Wafi Diah, Nimanja’s Supply Chain Associate.

Along with the launch of Nimanja, the event also saw the introduction of Nimanja’s latest range of pet food from the United States and the first Bruneian brand of cat litter.

The online pet store offers products for a range of pets from aquatic animals to cats and dogs. Customers have the option to pick up products from Petlink Enterprise in Kiulap or receive delivery of the products at their doorstep, offering free delivery for purchases over BND50 in the Brunei-Muara district and free delivery for purchases over BND100 in the Belait and Tutong districts.

Reinforcing the need for support of other local startups, Nimanja Enterprise will be working with locally developed mobile application Snapfeed and The Otter Company, that provides Islamic multimedia solutions for businesses.

In realizing Brunei’s potential in the e-commerce industry, Anderson – through his five years of experience in the United States and in meeting professionals in the e-commerce field such as Jeff Hoffman of Priceline.com and Joe Abrams, co-founder of MySpace – wishes to share his experiences with other Bruneians in the hope of inspiring future entrepreneurs in the country.

“With ideas at hand and with passion to build towards our desire, we firmly believe that our actions will lead to a better and a sustainable Brunei. Part of our main goal is to work hard to inspire others to delve into the field of entrepreneurship, and to work together towards achieving our country’s Vision 2035.”
