#Girlbosses Rule The Day
It was an enterprising International Women’s Day celebration at the Royal Brunei Recreational Club on 11th March 2017, which saw two events organized by Brunei’s own event management #girlboss pro The Collective.
From 3pm to 6.30pm, a #girlboss pop-up market took place at the RBRC poolside, featuring local vendors all run by women entrepreneurs. The pop-up market featured an array of products from some of Brunei’s favourite creative vendors, from calligraphy art, baked goods, raw textiles, skincare, handbound books to coffee, ice-cream and a lemonade stand run by adorable little vendors.
In the evening, The Collective hosted an intimate dinner with talks centered on the International Women’s Day 2017 theme ‘Be Bold For Change’, featuring a panel of inspiring local female entrepreneurs. Priceless advice and experiences were shared by local girl bosses Lisa Ibrahim of Arkitek Ibrahim, Farhanna Pura of fashion label NaForrer, Yusrina Abdullah of jewellery brand Enya Bijoux, Lucy Bartlett of Bundle Beds, Legco member and Principal Architect of Eco-Bumi Arkitek Siti Rozaimeriyanti binti Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji Abdul Rahman, and charity organization La Vida manager Dawn Lee.
After the talk, a fashion show comprising NaForrer’s collection that was debuted at the London Fashion Week last February was then showcased for the guests, modeled by social influencers and fashion bloggers.
