Launch of the All New Volkswagen Tiguan
Maju Motors – the sole distributor of Volkswagen in Brunei – launched the highly anticipated and all-new Tiguan to a crowd of excited guests at their showroom in Jalan Telanai last week, at an event held on 10 February.
Present to launch the new Tiguan was Stefanie Chan, the Managing Director of Maju Motors, who greeted guests with a welcome speech. Malcolm Wong, General Manager of Maju Motors, was also present to brief the guests on an overview of the vehicle.
Also present at the event were Pengiran Dato Paduka Hj Yunos bin Pg Hj Mahmud and Dr Chan Sui Kiat (Director of Maju Motors Sdn Bhd), both of whom joined Stefanie Chan and Malcolm Wong in unveiling the new Tiguan.
The new Volkswagen Tiguan is the first SUV based on the modular transverse matrix (MQB), which allows for a dynamic synthesis of design, comfort and functionality. Longer, wider and lower than its previous model, the noticeably sportier style of the new Tiguan oozes sophistication. The design won the Tiguan the 2016 iF Design Award – one of the world’s most recognised design awards.
The new Tiguan also boasts an optimised body structure and improved aerodynamics, meaning drivers and occupants can enjoy a comfortable ride with great safety. It also features state-of-the-art technologies including Adaptive Cruise Control and Front Assist with City Emergency Braking. Under the hood, the engines are now up to 24% more fuel-efficient in the Euro 6 emissions standard with BlueMotion Technology.
The new Volkswagen Tiguan is also awarded the top rating of five stars by the independent European consumer protection organisation Euro NCAP.
