Fans of “Sleepless in Seattle” can rejoice with Singapore Airlines’ exciting announcement of a fourth non-stop flight to yet another major city in the US. With direct flights to Seattle being launched in early September next year, the new destination will also be a welcome addition as the fifth US city in the airlines’ route network on top of Houston, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco.
Initially, flights will begin operating on the Airbus A350-900 aircraft three times a week during September before increasing to four times a week in the following month. With Seattle’s strong and diverse economy, not only is it a choice venue for many start-up businesses but it is also home to various headquarters of a flourishing number of major US corporations. Keeping in mind the “Emerald City’s” top ranking in terms of job and population growth, Singapore Airlines CEO, Mr Goh Choon Phong sheds more light on the airlines’ decision to fly directly to Seattle.
“Our new non-stop flights to Seattle are another demonstration of our commitment to expand our operations in the important US market and grow our network reach. The new services will also further strengthen the Singapore hub by providing customers faster and more convenient connectivity from key markets such as Southeast Asia, South Asia and Australasia to North America,” he mentioned.
With over 250 seats available per flight including Business Class and Premium Economy Class, tickets will be sold progressively from 7 November 2018 onwards through various distribution channels. By this December, Singapore Airlines will be heading more than 50 flights per week to major cities in the US, of which 27 are non-stop flights.
