With a vast coastline to explore and the promise of unlimited waves to surf, the Tegarbois surf group based across various parts of Borneo joined together for the filming of a short film ‘The Search: Borneo Waves 2 Introductions’ on surfing across the island. Hitting well known spots like the beloved Tuaran in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, the group aims to “catalyse a new surf culture that’s more open to foreign surfers and focusing on #sharingthestoke” while showcasing the potential of Borneo island as a surf travel destination.
Over the course of 14 days, they embarked on an extraordinary journey with the support of Ripcurl Malaysia and Candywax Borneo, catching waves and making friends along the coast from Sabah, Brunei and Sarawak. They also paid tribute to the various sponsors and supporters during filming.
