BiG Buzz : GO JAKARTA!

 

Jakarta just got a whole lot more accessible with AirAsia Indonesia! The world’s best low-cost airline according to Skytrax, Indonesia AirAsia, recently inaugurated a direct flight route between Jakarta and Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam and the route is the first ever for the Indonesian arm of AirAsia. “The launch of the new route to Bandar Seri Begawan further solidifies Indonesia AirAsia’s position in the ASEAN region, extending its reach to one of Indonesia’s closest neighboring countries. This initiative highlights Indonesia AirAsia’s dedication to expanding its network and simplifying travel for passengers, whether for leisure or business purposes,” said Head of Indonesia Affairs & Policy Indonesia AirAsia, Eddy Krismeidi, during the launching ceremony at Brunei International Airport on August 2nd, 2024. The inaugural flight, QZ 528, departed from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport  (CGK), and landed safely at Brunei International Airport (BWN) at 21:00 local time where it was warmly welcomed with a ceremonial water salute.

On this momentous occasion, Mr. Krismeidi expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam, Prof. Dr. Achmad Ubaedillah; Acting Director, Department of Civil Aviation, Mr. Muhamad Emmy Shamdy Khairul Haji Kadir; and Acting Director of Tourism Development Department, Ms. Salinah Haji Mohd. Salleh, for their support. “A direct flight connection between our two nations paves the way for closer interactions among the two countries contributing to enhanced economic and business relations. We also hope that both governments can promote stronger bilateral ties. This flight will not only facilitate easier travel between Brunei Darussalam and Indonesia, but also create new opportunities for collaboration in tourism and trade sectors,” remarked Prof. Dr. Achmad Ubaedillah in his ceremony speech at the launch. Tickets for the Bandar Seri Begawan (BWN) to Jakarta (CGK) route are now available for purchase through the Airasia MOVE app, website airasia.com, online travel agencies, and other authorized ticket sales agents.
