One of Brunei’s best cafes is a hidden gem by the poolside at Peak Club sports complex! Two Sons is a front runner when it comes to being the whole package. Great coffee, healthy protein lattes and gut-loving Kombucha round off the menu of artisanal bakes, plus the friendliest baristas around. With an impressive resume which includes managing an award-winning cafe in the UK for several years, and a stint at the fine dining eatery The Wilderness, Sal and Alex have turned Two Sons into a household name when it comes to the nation’s third wave coffee scene. Drawing from Alex’s heritage, they’re also working to introduce Russo-European bakes with an Asian twist (think Pirozkhi stuffed with potato curry filling!). They’ve made a name for their own brand of cold brew which has all the caffeine punch you want with bold flavours and a light mouthfeel. SANTOLA (SABAH)
A local place tucked away in the Kolombong industrial area is the coffee haven, Santola Bar Cafe. Not only do they serve their very own roasted grinds from Cap Kuda Coffee — the coffee conglomerate responsible for Sabah’s rise in coffee and F&B in the last decade — they also have their own custom coffee printing service for a little magic latte art too. Established in 2001, Santola was set to be a place for the “new generations coffee drinkers”, and has around 10 types of coffee beverages for everyone to enjoy; from the ever-popular lattes and mochas down to the Malaysian favourite Kopi Tarik. The place can get busy. head there at tea time to enjoy some scrumptious desserts like a carrot cheesecake, or perhaps a New York Cheesecake that definitely pairs well with a hot cup of mocha!
